Question of the day
Our last question asked: How did Microsoft recently get "a crash course in racism" from Twitter? It had to delete all the racist, genocidal tweets its experimental AI chatbot Tay was goaded into tweeting by trolls. And actually, not all of them have been deleted yet, either.
Congratulations to Sarah-Ann Soffer of IHG for being the very first to answer that correctly (and for adding "this is why I still balance my checkbook, the robots will eventually ruin everything")! Honorable mentions go out to Ron Casalotti (who notes Microsoft's "bigger sin: Not realizing upfront Twitter users would not exploit this"), Lucia A. Walinchus, Mark Gibbs (who wonders "MS didn't notice what Intertubes users did with Boaty McBoatface?"), Robin Tierney (who theorizes "AI=artif idiocy"), Robert Fortner, Ken Walker (who suggests an AI bot learning racism and misogyny from trolls "explains Twitter, really"), Laura B. Childs, Judyth Mermelstein and Doc Reiss for all getting that exactly right, too.
As for today's question, here it is: What hashtag is trending after North Carolina passed a law blocking local governments from banning discrimination in public places based on gender identity and sexual orientation?
