Question of the day

May 20, 2016

Our last question asked: According to Quartz, what app is turning our friends into petty jerks? That would be Venmo.

Congrats to Carrie Gray for being the very first to get that right! Sorry, Thomas Feyer, we couldn't accept the answer of "All of them!" although Carrie Gray apparently agreed with you, as well! Honorable mentions go out to these fabulous folks for also answering correctly: Leila Palizi (who "definitely [has] experienced the petty jerkiness firsthand as a result of usage"), Amanda Shepherd (who also "COULD NOT agree more"), Maureen MacGregor (who wonders "Did the events in this article really happen though? I seriously can't imagine anyone that cheap & callous"), Wes Wolfe (whose answer also echoed Feyer's: "ALL OF THEM. JESUS. Also Venmo. But really, ALL OF THEM. DAMN"), Sarah Mattero (who worries "I just had to download this my future? Are some friendships doomed?"), Mark Gibbs (who speculates "Venmo turning friends into petty jerks? Nah, I'm guessing they were probably on the edge of douchey to begin with") and Auditi Guha (who declares that's "an app I will NOT be downloading").

As for today's question, here it is: According to the Wall Street Journal, a generation of opera stars seemingly were inspired by watching what?
