Featured journalist: Abhishek Madhukar

Jun 07, 2016

Today we feel privileged to highlight the work of Abhishek Madhukar, a multimedia journalist for Reuters charged with covering Tibet and the Dalai Lama (if you hadn't already deduced from his photo!). Based in Dharamsala, India, Madhukar also freelances as a writer, photographer and video journalist. With more than ten years’ experience as a journalist, he has covered such breaking stories from India as the deeply upsetting Delhi bus gang rape case of Nirbhaya – Jyoti Singh and was the first camera crew to interview Jyoti’s family. Madhukar also covered the Maha Kumbh Mela single handedly for New York Times and shot the devastation caused by the Uttarakhand floods for the Global Post. Additionally, in 2015 he produced, directed, shot and co-edited his first documentary, “Through Flesh and Bones,” providing testimonies of Tibetan torture survivors and ex-political prisoners under China's government. That's just a small sample of Madhukar's exceptional work, so be sure to stop by his Muck Rack portfolio here for an even closer look.

Remember: If you also want to be featured, you should 1) set up your own journalist portfolio 2) get verified and 3) let us know by emailing Kirsten.
