Question of the Day

Jan 5, 2017

Yesterday, we asked: In a much-read (25,000 shares) opinion piece today, the New York Times'Paul Krugman writes that since electing Donald Trump, America has become a "Stan." No, not a "stalker/fan" who creeps men's rights forums on Reddit, but a country from Central Asia ending with "-stan" whose "tinpot dictators" we used to mock. How many of the world's countries end in "-stan"? (not including America of course)

Answer: Seven. Congrats to art historian Miriam van Ommeren for answering first. Kudos to CNN's David Daniel who also named the "seven stans": Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Your question of the day for today is… Speaking of those makers of dubious tacos, the founder of Jack In The Box, Robert O. Peterson, is a pretty interesting guy. He's got a City of Paris Medal of Honor. He married San Diego's first female mayor. But not everyone loved Peterson. On what U.S. president's "enemies list" did the burgen chain founder's name appear?
