Lipton named editor-in-chief of USA Today, McClatchy announces regional publishers, and more

Joanne Lipman has been named editor-in-chief of USA Today. Also, McClatchy recently announced four new regional publishers: Alexandra Villoch, president and publisher of the Miami Herald Media Company, now leads the East Region; Sara Glines, president and publisher of The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC), is overseeing the Carolinas Region; and Tony Berg, president and publisher of The Kansas City Star, takes over the Midwest Region.

At CBS News, Jenna Gibson has been named Senior Editorial Producer. Gibson, who was already overseeing political bookings for CBS This Morning, will now oversee political bookings for the CBS Evening News and special events as well. And at the Charlotte Observer, managing editor Sherry Chisenhall has been named executive editor, taking over for the retiring Rick Thames.
