Pelley pushed out as anchor of CBS Evening News

May 31, 2017

Oli Coleman and Emily Smith of Page Six were the first to report that Scott Pelley is leaving ‘CBS Evening News’ and will return full time to CBS’ “60 Minutes.” As Dylan Byers writes in his piece for CNNMoneyScott Pelley out at 'CBS Evening News', according to sources, Pelley “is being pushed out as anchor” and the change has been in the works for some time. Tweets Scott Nover, “.@ScottPelley is a truly remarkable newsman and it will be sad to see him depart @CBSEveningNews.” And Timothy Blotz says, “JUST IN: We're all replaceable.” Anthony Mason, a CBS News Senior National Correspondent, is expected to fill in as anchor until the network names a permanent replacement.
