JTrust newsletter launches; new hires at WGN, CNNMoney, The New Yorker, Esquire.com

In career news and updates, Lauren Jiggetts is joining WGN Morning News as an anchor, beginning in July. Most recently, she served as a weekend evening anchor and reporter at Chicago’s NBC affiliate, WMAQ-TV. Julia Carpenter has been hired by CNNMoney to cover the intersection of gender and money. She has been a social media editor for The Washington Post and also runs The Post’s Tumblr.

Jessica Winter will be leaving her role as features editor at Slate to join The New Yorker as newyorker.com’s new executive editor. The brand has also hired Soo-Jeong Kang, previously with The New York Times, as the executive producer of New Yorker Video. And Nate Erickson, a contributor for GQ, Yahoo and others, is taking on the newly created role of senior lifestyle editor for Esquire.com.
