Changes at BuzzFeed, The New York Times, Idaho Statesman and CQ Roll Call

Tom Gara, BuzzFeed’s business editor since December 2014, has been named the new opinion editor for the website. Prior to joining BuzzFeed in 2014, he had been editor of the Journal’s Corporate Intelligence blog and previously worked at The Financial Times, Egypt Today and The National.

Kathleen Kingsbury, who has been the digital managing editor at The Boston Globe, is joining The New York Times as deputy editorial page editor. Prior to joining the staff at The Boston Globe in 2013, she worked for TIME. She has also contributed to Reuters and The Daily Beast.

Chadd Cripe, who has worked in the Idaho Statesman’s sports department for two decades, has been named the paper’s new sports editor. Cripe, who spent 14 seasons as the Boise State football reporter, replaces Mike Prater, who left the paper in April and is currently co-host of Idaho Sports Talk @KTIK-FM.

And Mary Ellen McIntire, previously a healthcare reporter for Morning Consult, is now working for CQ Roll Call as a reporter covering healthcare policy and politics.
