Question of the Day

Yesterday we asked: It used to be that “birds stopping play” was a fairly common problem at Wimbledon. Who’s the “bird scarer” that put an end to that problem?

Answer: For the record, Wimbledon’s official bird scarer is not, as many suggested, a member of the royal family. It is, in fact, Rufus the Hawk, who of course has his own Twitter account.

Congrats to...Dan Rosenbaum, first to tweet the correct answer, and special shout-out to Malcolm Owen for referring us to the beautiful profile of Rufus by Stella Artois.

Your question of the day for today is…What 1930s starlet helped invent a frequency hopping technology that was ultimately implemented during the Cold War and became the basis for modern Bluetooth technology?
