Featured Journalist: Joseph Braude

Today’s featured journalist is New York-based author, journalist and Middle East specialist Joseph Braude. Joseph is a writer and editor at Majalla, a leading Arabic- and English-language magazine. He serves as advisor to the Al-Mesbar Center for Research and Studies in the UAE, senior fellow in the Middle East program at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and counselor on Arab affairs at America Abroad Media in Washington. His work has appeared in a variety of publications in the U.S., including The Wall Street JournalThe New York TimesThe LA Times Sunday MagazineThe American InterestForeign Policy, The Atlantic, Glamour and elsewhere. In the Middle East and North Africa, his writings have appeared in Asharq Alawsat, Al-Majalla, Al-Ittihad, Al-Arabiya and Al-Ahdath al-Maghrebiya.

Joseph is also the author of two books, The New Iraq and The Honored Dead, with a third, “Broadcasting Change: Arabic Media as a Catalyst for Liberalism,” set to be released this December. Read more about him and check out some of his work here.
