Career Moves at NPR, The Verge, Fortune

NPR has hired Michelle Morgante as its Deputy Managing Editor for the West Coast. She’ll be responsible for driving the network’s afternoon and evening breaking and ongoing news coverage in collaboration with the Deputy Managing Editors on the East Coast. Most recently, she was the Managing Editor of the Merced Sun-Star, and before that, she spent 20 years in multiple roles at The Associated Press.

Jake Kastrenakes is the new Circuit Breaker editor at The Verge, where he’ll be focused on deepening its coverage of gadgets and growing the channel’s audience. He’s been with The Verge for five years.

And at FortunePolina Marinova is now producing the Term Sheet newsletter. She’s been with Fortune since 2014. Prior to that, she worked at OZY, CNN and USA Today.
