Question of the Day

Sep 12, 2017

On Friday, we asked: In February 2017, a 21-year-old Syrian cinematographer was banned from entering the U.S. Why was he trying to come into the country?

Answer: Khaled Khateeb was trying to attend the Academy Awards because “The White Helmets,” which he worked on, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Short. The film won the award, becoming Netflix’s first Academy Award-winning documentary.
