Updates at Democrat-Gazette, El Paso Times, Barron’s

Nov 01, 2017

A couple of updates at Little Rock’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette: Rachel O’Neal has been named editor of the paper’s Sunday High Profile section, and Jim Kordsmeier, who’s been with the paper since 1994, has replaced her as business editor.

Zahira Torres is the new editor and news director of the El Paso Times, making her the second woman and first Latina to lead the 136-year-old newspaper. She previously worked at The Los Angeles Times and, before that, the Denver Post.

Jeffrey Cane has joined Barron’s as its news and features editor. He was most recently the editor overseeing finance, banking, hedge funds and the markets at The New York Times. He has also worked for Dow Jones, Reuters and the website of Condé Nast Portfolio.
