Updates at Bloomberg
Caroline Gage has been named Executive Editor for Global Finance at Bloomberg News. She will remain in New York, where she’s covered most beats since joining Bloomberg in 2005. For the past three years, she’s been the Managing Editor for Global Business. Gage succeeds Christine Harper, who was named Editor in Chief of Bloomberg Markets.
Scott Deveau, who has been based in Toronto as a mergers and acquisitions and money manager reporter covering Canadian deals for Bloomberg News since May 2014, is moving to New York to take over the shareholder activist beat. Before joining Bloomberg, Deveau covered the aerospace, airline, rail and automotive sectors for the Financial Post. He also contributed to the arts section of the National Post as a music writer and was a war correspondent in Afghanistan. Prior to the Post, he worked at the Globe and Mail.
Meanwhile, Michael Keller, who has been a reporter at Bloomberg, is joining the investigations team at The New York Times to report on artificial intelligence, algorithms, robots and technology. In addition to Bloomberg, Keller has worked at Newsweek/The Daily Beast and Al Jazeera America. He was also a research fellow at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia. And he was once an extra on an episode of “Full House.”
