Lash, Thomas, Gelles take on new roles

Cindi Lash is the new editor of Missouri Lawyers Media. A former Patch Regional Editor and Sunday Editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, she’s also been editor of Pittsburgh Magazine

Lauren Thomas has been named retail reporter for, where she will focus on building its coverage of department stores and specialty retailers. She joined CNBC in January 2017 as a news associate focused on breaking news coverage. While in school at UNC-Chapel Hill, Thomas was one of the founding journalists of the North Carolina Business News Wire.

David Gelles is taking over Corner Office at The New York Times for its relaunch in late February or early March. He’ll be adapting it for a new era, with the aim of making it digital first and more reader inclusive. Gelles has been a business reporter for The Times for four and a half years, writing for Sunday Business, DealBook and across the paper. He previously covered media for The Financial Times. He is the author of “Mindful Work: How Meditation Is Changing Business From the Inside Out.”
