Question of the Day

Feb 12, 2018

On Friday we asked: In honor of National Pizza Day, we found out that according to a Gallup Poll, kids ages 3 - 11 say pizza is their favorite of all the food groups for lunch and dinner. And pepperoni is America's favorite topping. It’s apparently on 36% of all pizza orders. But how many many pizzas are actually sold in the U.S. each year?

Answer: Approximately 3 billion pizzas are sold in the U.S. each year.

Congrats to Dan Rosenbaum‏, once again first to tweet the correct answer. He notes that we sent him “down the rabbit hole of pizzadom.” You’re welcome, Dan.

Your question of the day for today is…It’s the day before Mardi Gras, otherwise known as Lundi Gras in New Orleans, where the kings of Rex and Zulu will be given symbolic control over the city for Mardi Gras day. The modern version of these “Fat Monday” events was the brainchild of what journalist?
