What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote an advice column at my junior college paper, only I did it from the perspective of an Orca whale (the school's mascot).

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I treasure my late grandmother's Oliveri Lettera 22, although it works only occasionally these days.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Spider Jerusalem, from Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson's "Transmetropolitan."
