@starkmanly It’s the same with architecture writing: any sort of audience beyond the theory class, or outside the east coast Ph.D. mill, is just frivolous, politically empty entertainment.
@follyforlondon @daveg What's more, someone who is arrogant and dismissive toward the entrenched Hollywood system—agents, producers, etc. I have no dog in this fight—I am not a Heatherwick groupie—but the reasons you're listing are not, in and of themselves, convincing to me.
@follyforlondon @daveg Imagine, though, a filmmaker given x-amount of money by a studio, who then quickly exceeds that by 50%, who has no respect for the context and history of a particular genre, etc. Are those, in and of themselves, disqualifying characteristics?
Hey, Los Angeles, I’ll be speaking with artist Julia Christensen, author of “Big Box Reuse,” tomorrow night at @LACMA on technology, preservation, obsolescence, more. And it’s free.  http://www.lacma.org/event/preserving-obsolescence
