Hernan Lopez is the Founder and former CEO of Wondery, one of the largest podcasting networks, acquired by Amazon in 2021. Lopez founded Wondery in 2016 and grew it to become critically acclaimed for immersive hit shows like WeCrashed, Dirty John, Business Wars, The Shrink Next Door, and Joe Exotic. Wondery is the only publisher to have simultaneously claimed the #1 and #2 ‘Top New Podcasts’ slots on an annual Podtrac ranker. Nineteen of its shows have been developed for TV adaptations. Hernan himself is credited for executive producing five of these TV shows.
After leaving Wondery, Lopez co-founded Danvas, a company that creates innovative, luxury LED displays to showcase digital art. A VC-backed startup, Danvas is already changing the landscape of the art world by enabling digital artists to grow their audience, and attracting collectors to the medium.
Hernan has been a featured speaker at WSJ Tech Live, The Festival Of Media, The Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity, SXSW, Promax, Natpe, CES, The INMA World Congress, and many investor conferences worldwide. His articles about advertising, media, and entrepreneurship have been published in key business outlets. He is a founding member and Governor of The Podcast Academy, an organization that promotes excellence in podcast production, and elevates the genre as a whole.
Hernan’s desire to help young entrepreneurs led him to found The Hernan Lopez Family Foundation. This non-profit seeks to empower aspiring entrepreneurs from under-represented sectors through partnership grants, education, and mentorship.
Lopez is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and previously served on the board of GLAAD. He is also a native of Argentina and supports the Latino Donor Collaborative.
Lopez received his MBA from the University of Miami in 1997 and now lives in Los Angeles with his family.
