Ilona Biro’s Biography

Online media pioneer with 15 years of experience developing, launching and improving the content and reach of Canadian portals and verticals. While at Rogers Communications, I helped launch the content portal for Canada's first broadband internet service - @Home Canada - which subsequently became Excite Canada. At AOL Canada I was homepage editor in charge of the launch of AOL.ca, the first public-facing AOL portal, and then became senior editor in charge of Personal Finance and Travel verticals.
Lately I have been working on the relaunch of the City of Toronto's website - toronto.ca - making it faster, better and more useful for citizens. Enjoyed working for the common cause, but still freelancing for magazines and online sites.
