Biography

I have spent my career immersed in business and technology journalism first covering local industries in New Jersey, later as the New York editor for Xconomy delving into the city's tech startup community, and then as a freelancer for such outlets as TheStreet, Investopedia, and Street Fight. I earned my bachelor's in English from Rutgers University.

What was your first job as a journalist?

Intern, then staff writer for a business newspaper in New Jersey.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, I started writing before the invention of the InterWebs.

How is social media changing news?

Sadly, it has meant people do not look for information themselves. They ask friends to "interpret" news for them.
