Also controls on anonymous prepaid cards. Max limits of €150 in store and €50 for online transactions, with member states able to lower these further if they choose.
This will mean Bitcoin businesses are regulated in the EU for the first time. Covers those which "provide services that are in charge of holding, storing and transferring virtual currencies".

Not a surprise given the acquisition of VocaLink - but I doubt this is what some EU folk had in mind when they wanted to inject competition into a market dominated by Mastercard and Visa
