Rocket Shokai began the original Sentenced to Be a Hero novel series in October 2020, with the physical light novel featuring illustrations by Mephisto releasing since September 2021, collected in eight volumes in Japan to date. A manga version illustrated by Natsumi Inoue began in March 2022 with two volumes released in Japan to date. Yen Press releases an English-language version of the light novel, with Yen Press also releasing the manga version starting in June 2026.
