The Governors Ball following the Television Academy’s Emmy Awards telecast has become the nation’s largest annual formal sit-down dinner, hosting more than 4,000 guests for a meal created by chef Joachim Splichal and his Patina Catering. The weekend prior to the live ceremony, the Academy holds its Creative Arts Awards, since last year, divided into two evenings, with Governors Balls held after each; over the three nights, a total of 8,500 guests attend the festivities.<
