What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a page designer for The Sun Herald in Biloxi, Miss. I worked nights. I loved the job, but not the hours.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I learned to type on a manual typewriter at a summer program whenI was 8.

How is social media changing news?

Social media gives more of a sense of immediacy to news. It is also more interactive. And, mistakes are easier to make, harder to clean up.
