This plan could be New Castle County’s roadmap to the future — New Castle County should aspire to be a regional and national destination for business. Unfortunately, there has been a persistent criticism by some people that our county government has not done enough in the past to cultivate and incentivize new and existing business opportunities.

Pacquiao looks for redemption vs. Bradley — A veteran fighter like Manny Pacquiao should know better. So should his trainer Freddie Roach. Never let a match go to the score cards if you can help it. In the first Pacquiao-Tim Bradley fight, Bradley prevailed in what was considered by most boxing fans and media members a controversial decision (115-113, 115-113, 113-115).

Khan vs. Collazo highlights Floyd-Maidana undercard — How quickly things can change in sports. In February, Amir Khan made disparaging remarks about Floyd Mayweather Jr. because the undefeated welterweight decided to fight Marcos Maidana. "I felt very disrespected by his team," Khan tweeted last month about his negotiations with Mayweather. "I wasted my time."

Patrick Day and Joe Smith win at Aviator — Junior middleweight prospect Patrick Day emerged victorious again, scoring a first-round knockout over Duane King in a scheduled six-round bout Friday night on Lou DiBella's latest Broadway Boxing card at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn. The Freeport native improved to 7-0-1 (4 KOs) after dropping King with a left hook 39 seconds into the bout.

Mid-majors still searching for respect — What goes around comes around is probably the statement of the week. We'll start with Ohio State, which hardly ever plays any of its in-state rivals (Dayton, Xavier, Cincinnati). The NCAA Tournament selection committee changed that temporarily as the No. 6 Buckeyes squared off against 11th-seeded Dayton in a second-round game on Saturday.

3 of a kind for Stony Brook's Vanderka — It was the seventh inning stretch and Stony Brook's Frankie Vanderka figured he could do it. The senior righthander was just nine outs away from the third no-hitter of his career.

CBB coaching carousel in full swing — The coaching carousel is in full swing as 22 coaches were either fired or stepped down. Three schools have already filled positions, with Bruce Pearl the latest, replacing Tony Barbee at Auburn. Russ Pennell took over for Clarence Finley at Central Arkansas and former Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap replaced Max Good at Loyola Marymount.

Breaking down the women's NCAA Tournament — Best player: The ascension of Odyssey Sims, the BIG 12 Player of the Year, has been astounding. The senior guard and future WNBA lottery pick improved her scoring from 12.9 to 28.4 points per game this season. She's been an adept distributor (4.5 assists) and rebounder (4.5 rebounds) as she has carried the Bears most of this season.

Local WBB teams happy to be dancing — For the St. John's women, it will be the fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and the second straight for coach Joe Tartamella. Fordham will be in the dance for the first time since 1994, while Marist will be a part of the post season for the ninth straight year.

VCU steps it up after Melvin Johnson leaves with injury — The hit came hard and early for VCU in an Atlantic 10 semifinal matchup against George Washington on Saturday at Barclays Center. Sophomore guard Melvin Johnson, the A-10's sixth man of the year and the Rams' third-leading scorer, had to be helped off the court after suffering a left leg injury just 5:29 into the contest and his team trailing by three points.

Can't say I blame Kovalev for being upset at Stevenson.

Mar 29, 2014

Kovalev just called Adonis Stevenson a piece of Sh*#.

Mar 29, 2014

RT @Main_Events: Sergey Kovalev still has not seen the eighth round or a decision since 2010. #KovalevAgnew #KrushedIt

Mar 29, 2014

Kovalev just destroyed Agnew's body. Need to see him against Stevenson or Pascal. @HBOboxing #boxing

Mar 29, 2014

Another knockdown for Kovalev, but Agnew doesn't get up from it. Kovalev wins by 7th-round KO

Mar 29, 2014

Agnew is being real defensive. But he has to be otherwise he would've been KOd by the 2nd round.

Mar 29, 2014

Another knockdown (or was it?) for Kovalev.

Mar 29, 2014

Kovalev is dominating. It would be a shame if we don't get to see Kovalev-Stevenson. #boxing @HBOboxing
