I have day-to-day oversight of the BBC's eyewitness media unit (UGC Hub) and largest social media accounts for news. This involves managing a team of audience engagement producers and writers posting regular content to accounts including @BBCBreaking https://twitter.com/bbcbreaking, BBC News on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bbcnews and the BBC News Instagram Channel http://instagram.com/bbcnews. The BBC News Facebook page is the largest news page on Facebook, @BBCBreaking won best Twitter feed at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Online Media Awards and our social news team won a People's and Judge's Webby award for Social Video in 2017 and for Social News in 2015 and a DigiDay European Publishing Award for Best use of a Messenger Bot (@BBCPolitics on Brexit) in 2017.
My career at the BBC began in 1999, working in live political programmes and as a researcher for David Dimbleby. I have worked in TV, radio and as a commissioning editor and spent 8 years producing and editing Radio 4 news programmes, some of which won Sony radio awards. I have also worked for the BBC in Washington and Jerusalem and produced programmes in Africa, Russia and across Europe.
