A friend once told me, “If you ever get the chance to go to a Quinceañera, don’t pass it up. You’ll have a blast.” I’ve lived in Texas most of my life, with hundreds of Mexican-American friends, but this is the first time that I’ve had friends with a daughter who’s turning fifteen. The family and I have been friends for about eight years, so I definitely knew this day was coming. And I’m excited! Gift-wise, I’ve decided to give the girl a stack of cash, Tony Soprano style. I want to be THAT guy.
