The Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, starts today, ushering in the year of the Dog. Some celebrants call it the Spring Festival. For a 15-day period beginning February 16th, China will welcome the Year of the Dog, one of 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac table. The Dog is considered to be a lucky animal in Chinese culture. It’s also believed that the Dog is caring due to its unswerving loyalty to humans.
