I spent my entire first semester of law school feeling like a complete failure. Don’t get me wrong, I did everything I was supposed to do. I briefed all my cases, went to every class, took plenty of notes, prepared outlines, and did many, many practice questions. But I felt like nothing was sticking and as if I were banging my head against the wall. I was almost ready to throw in the towel when a very wise mentor suggested that I take a learning-style exam.
