American Journal of Public Health

On behalf of AJPH, the editors and Board express our grief and extend our heartfelt sympathy to the victims, survivors, families, friends and communities impacted by the massacre at the Pulse nightclub. This tragedy affects many communities – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer, Latino, Immigrant, and Muslim – already vulnerable to social and health disparities. Victims were mostly young adults from all socio-economic strata. We express condolences to all affected and condemn violence against people based on their gender expression and sexual orientation, and all other forms of violence similarly linked to discrimination, whether on the basis of race, ethnicity, immigration status, or religion (including Islam).
