The Escambia Sun-Press was founded in October of 1948 by Paul and Jean Driver.
Paul had many years of experience in newspaper production, previously working for the Mobile Press Register and the Pensacola News Journal. Feeling the time was right, Paul quit his job at the Pensacola News Journal, and started the Warrington Sun, a small weekly community newspaper. The paper did well, and slowly started specializing in the publication of legal notices, which was a hit with it’s subscribers because of the great investment opportunities, such as foreclosure sales, sheriff’s sales, mini warehouse sales, tax deeds, etc. Source
