Although it is a town whose roots go back more than 100 years, the Village of Bartlett did not enter its prime until quite recently. The town's namesake, Luther Bartlett, purchased the original 40 acres that comprised the townsite in 1843. Thirty years later he offered the Chicago & Pacific Railroad a right-of-way through his acreage, as well as a train station site. It is around this 125-year-old train depot, which still stands today, that this modern suburban community took shape. Source
