A Hixson man had his Jeep hit by a train on Friday night, then he wound up in jail. Robert Gudell, 34, was charged with DUI, violating the Implied Consent Law, and a railroad crossing violation. In the incident at 9:05 p.m. at a crossing at Old Mill Road, officers found a Jeep that had been struck by a train. Gudell told police he was giving two friends a ride and they were on the crossing when the train headed toward them. He decided to hop out of the vehicle.
