Spare a thought for the homeless this Christmas. When you live on the streets, every day is a permanent battle to survive. When I used to sleep behind Marks and Sparks in Ilford, I’d wake up freezing cold, groggy, not at all rested and wait for the adrenalin to kick in. My plan for every day was the same, “I’m gonna try not to die.”You think I am exaggerating? Already four of my homeless family have frozen to death in Redbridge this winter, and December has only just dawned.
