Caledon council has approved its 2018 budget with a net levy increase of 5.97 per cent. The blended rate is 2.83 per cent, which for the averaged assessed home of $554,000 is about a $135 increase next year. Included in the budget is funding for a $325,000 multipurpose track in Alton. The town plans to spend about $20.5-million on roads, bridges and culverts. Trail improvements, including phase two of the Palgrave community trail, will total $220,000.
