Finding a good partner can be hard. Replacing one can be harder. For Perry County Sheriff’s Deputy Ben Davis, that time is coming soon.Davis has served as the sheriff’s department’s K-9 handler since 2012, and has been partnered with Ugas, a brawny, sable- colored German shepherd, since that time. While Davis is still going strong, Ugas is rapidly approaching retirement age. The German shepherd turns 8 in August. “This is my first dog,” Davis said.
