What was your first job as a journalist?
My first byline came from a column submitted to The Post, the student paper at Ohio University. I had a staff job just a couple weeks later.
How is social media changing news?
It's sped up the pace dramatically. The trick is balancing that speed with accuracy and ethics.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Les Nessman, of WKRP in Cincinnati. Les is a tough, no-nonsense reporter who was in tune with his audience. Bonus: his use of duct tape.
