Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yep. When my mom got a photojournalism degree in her 30s, I used to play with her 1990s-era word processor, and hang in her darkroom, too.
Who do you wish followed you?
Jeneen Interlandi, who writes things for the New York Times Magazine that read like the inside of my brain... but glossier.
Why did you become a journalist?
I was a Fulbright researcher in Dhaka when Rana Plaza collapsed. I saw it was journalists, not researchers, who had an impact there.
