Mr Justice Martin Spencer may well have solved the mystery of Lady Hale's spider brooch - clearly a reference to Boris the Spider by The Who. He helpfully took us through the lyrics at the Expert Witness Institute conference yesterday. Well worth a read.
So the public won't get what it needs at the election - a clear choice between Leave and Remain. It's impossible to be 'neutral' at the moment, I'm afraid. The judges can inject some sanity into the proceedings, but they can't save us from ourselves.
