Add us on Google Zuleikha Al-Shayeb She was captured by the French who, rather than treat her as a Prisoner of War (POW) in accordance with the 12 August, 1949 Geneva Convention, decided to torture and brutalise her. On 15 October, 1957, the French produced her in the streets of Algiers. She was chained to a land rover and driven on the streets.
