What was your first job as a journalist?
I covered the European Central Bank's monetary policy as a wire-service stringer. It was a fairly high-stakes job for learning the ropes.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I learned to type on an electric typewriter at school. 10 fingers typing was the most useful elective class I ever took.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Very selectively. Do your research and make sure what you're pitching is relevant to me.
