A major traffic accident involving four vehicles held up traffic on the M8 for up to 30 minutes. The collision happened on the motorway at J28 westbound just after 12pm on Sunday. Police and Traffic Scotland's Trunk Road Incident Support Service were at the scene. Two lanes were blocked on the route that was already congested due to a contraflow in place for weekend roadworks. Traffic Scotland reported delays of 30 minutes with queues as far back as J30 at Erskine Bridge merge.
A man has been left injured in a serious assault by a gang of teenagers in Ayr. The 30-year-old was walking with his wife on Saturday night when they encountered three men who punched him to the ground after a short conversation. Three more men came along, with two of them also punching and kicking the already injured man. The attack happened at the underpass on Limonds Way, near to Kings Court at around 11.10pm. The injured man was taken to Ayr Hospital where he is being treated.
Concerns are growing for a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Friday. Maryann Crumlish was last seen at around 7pm on Friday February 16 when she left her home in Corlic Street, Greenock. Her family have not heard from her since. She is described as 5ft 6 inches with a slim build and pale complexion. She has black collar length hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a green/blue hooded top, black ripped jeans and black trainers when she was last seen.

Find results that mention multiple specified terms, use AND or

Use the operators OR or , to broaden your search when you'd like either of
multiple terms to appear in results. (This is the default behavior of our search when no operators

Exact case matching or punctuation
If you're searching for a brand name or keyword that relies on specific punctuation marks or capitalization, you can
find results that match your exact query by adding matchcase: before the keyword you're searching for, like matchcase:E*TRADE .
Use parentheses to separate multiple
boolean phrases. For example, to find journalists talking about having fun in Disney World or
Disneyland, search for ("disney world" OR disneyland) AND fun.
An asterisk can be used to search for any variation of a root word truncated by the asterisk. For example, searching for admin* will return results for administrator, administration, administer, administered, etc.
A near operator is an AND operator where you can control the distance between the words. You can vary the distance the near operation uses by adding a forward slash and number (between 0-99) such as strawberries NEAR/10 "whipped cream", which means the strawberries must exist within 10 words of "whipped cream".
