Trained and educated as a pharmacist, Sherif El-Refai is now building on that background with a graduate degree in business. He currently attends the University of Florida, where he is earning a Master of Business Administration with a focus on global management, marketing, and competitive strategy. With an anticipated graduation date of May 2013, Sherif El-Refai plans to use his degree to enhance his industry and clinical experience.
Previously, Sherif El-Refai worked in a retail pharmacy. Between 2008 and 2011, while enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), he completed clinical training, worked at a national pharmacy chain, and conducted research at hospitals in the states of Washington and North Carolina. The cancer research he performed was submitted for publication to the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacists.
During the same period, Sherif El-Refai created a business proposal to add a pharmacy in the Emergency Department at UNC Hospital. He also presented to audiences of pharmacy students and pharmacists on topics ranging from cancer to vaccines. He earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2011.
