Firefighters rescue dog that fell into sewage lift station in Boynton Original

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue credited teamwork in its effort to rescue the dog and reunite it with its owner. July 18, 2026, 12:25 p.m. ET Boynton Beach Fire Rescue this week rescued a small dog that fell into a lift station that contained about 2 feet of raw sewage. The dog fell from a height of about 10 feet into the station on Thursday, July 16. One firefighter donned protective gear to enter the lift station and returned with the dog in about four minutes, the agency said on its Facebook page.

Tom Elia and Valentina Palm, Palm Beach Post Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took the owner of a Guatemalan bakery into custody on July 9 after an incident on Lucerne Avenue in Lake Worth Beach Jacob Zapeta Castro has an asylum case pending before U.S. immigration officials, family members said. They said he has a work permit, a Social Security number and a driver's license. It was not immediately clear if he remained in detention on July 12 or what charges he might be facing.
