SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Gloomy weather to start off the work week with stubborn clouds and showers on the way into CNY. A weather system to our south will stall over the Northeast today as a large area of high pressure blocks it from moving east. We will stay on the mild side of this weather system today. Then sunshine builds in from the north late Tuesday. WEATHER SYSTEM SETUP MONDAY MORNING There is a flood risk for the New England area today, including New Jersey, Long Island, and Connecticut.

Winter chill and accumulating snowfall Sunday and Monday in CNY

After summer heat in CNY Saturday with a high of 80 degrees, today will be about 40 degrees colder! Keep in mind, for mid-April in CNY normal high temperatures should be in the upper 50s. This cold air drops in for Sunday and Monday, feeling more like winter. OBSERVED HIGH TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY The reason for this big temperature drop is because of a cold front that rolls through today.
