>> welcome back. a new musical is focusing on courage inclusion and the life changing power of music. holly is the producer of the inspiring musical and holly. yeah. you heard me right. it's a lead actress in the production call one step at a time. will come on, ladies, thank continue feel here, want to talk to you first about just the inspiration behind producing a broadway musical here in music city. absolutely. >> our owner and writer of the play. david mace trend a few years ago decided that he wanted to write a musical to make our curriculum quiver. it stand apart from others in the country. so he took real life stories of struggling schools and put together this beautiful broadway style musical. he tested in other markets outside of nashville, then decided to bring it back home. and so we have a local cast, a local production team. and we're doing it here at home right in music city. we love that. of course, the other holly is one of those. that's part of the local cast told about the storyline that we see come to life. sure. yeah. so it's basically centers around. >> joe jackson. she goes into this middle school. its underperforming. bad grades attendance she kind of just. through determination and perseverance. she brings a school, a new life. she. brings it through the healing power of music she butts heads a little bit with the principal who is once regiment, one structure discipline and. she brings more life into the school through music and fun fact that i just learned your husband is also in this musical with you yesterday as he play. yes, he actually plays my so we don't have to stretch too with so fun working together yeah, it really is. you know, say that this play is really for all audiences. >> that is for all audiences. it is great for adults. the best part about the show is it's entertaining more. you're going to hear and testing music. you're gonna see incredible talent talent. >> you are going to feel good. you're going to feel empathetic. you're going to feel empowered when you leave. and that's why the show is great for everyone to come out and and we're going to get the word out. take it across country. for everyone to say had big ahead. i know we touched on it being a local cast. but would you would you say one step at a time. that really special experience for this it's it's so cool to have a local cast and show. i mean, there's about 30 of us in the show and. >> half of them are teenagers and what an amazing opportunity for teenagers to get to be part of a professional musical and get to work alongside professionals and bring this new story to life the cool thing about it being a local cast is you never know when you might bump into one of us in the grocery so she has a resume to back that up. talking about your history. the disney sure i worked for the disney company for about 12 years. globally and worked parks in orlando and paris and hong kong. yeah. got to do some really cool things for the company in entertainment and even met my husband performing in a show so special. i know this all kind of came first came to light. that bt a shout out to pga. and now of course, that at t packed. but the ultimate goal. he said, all is our our own or with love. the ultimate goal to be broadway. in the meantime, we're going to try to tour the show starting in 2027. that will be the next step where we take it to the masses to see. >> and to be a part of it and changed by >> about your back story opry land routes per the end is where i also met the director of our show brian hall shout out to him as well. we've met. they are many, many years ago. i was in all the shows out. not all of them, but a lot of shows and brian and i met there. and when this opportunity came back around. >> pulled him into the fold to so that we could bring our opryland routes. >> love the nashville ties, the local ties there. now we talked about this being a show for all ages out there. but what about the cast with the h family see on stage. >> the cast is the youngest person. i believe we have is an actual middle schooler, but are used in the show are supposed to all be in middle school. that's where holly comes in to change their lives and then we have all the teachers and adults as well. so we span probably from the age of 13. i believe until adult i will put their ages out. i don't know them. thanks more about the work that does and you guys have a campus right there on music or outright on music row. yes, quite for ad is a music curriculum company. that and educational company that makes videos and curriculum before healing power of music for all different kind of curriculums. that's where we came along. waiver ready is for character development and the power of music to heal
