time from spanish rule in 1865. >> the 53rd falmouth road race was yesterday. the seven mile run featured olympians, paralympians and recreational runners. it was the 50th anniversary of the wheelchair division, making it the oldest competitive wheelchair race in the country, and one of this year's competitors was there for the race back in 1977. >> i was so happy to be able to compete in an event that was a public race. i had always done just wheelchair racing before, so to be able to be out on the street competing against myself with the public was terrific. the town has been wonderful, the so supportive and i enjoy. every year i come up here. and nasa astronaut and needham native sonny williams received an honorary medal. ahead of the start, she ran the falmouth road race last year on the international space station. if you remember, she spent nearly ten months in space. she returned in march, nearly 280 days longer than originally planned. and our own eliza kruczynski ran to support tommy's place. she says these pictures were taken just as she hit her final burst of energy going up the last hill. >> congratulations to her and all t runners and what a tough day weather wise. it was beautiful out, but so incredibly hot. >> the heat and humidity made
