lawsuit has been thrown out by a judge. the chester upland school district is helping thousands of kids prepare for the start of the school year. they are giving away 4000 backpacks stocked full of school supplies. our adele joining us live from chester high school this morning in chile. the goal here is to bring more resources than just school supplies to these kids and their parents as well. good morning. >> good morning to you, jan. yeah, there's a whole plethora of resources that this event is going to be bringing to people who need it today. we've got a crew here from widener university. a bunch of students. good morning. >> good morning. >> so we have jada and we have zinnia who are here in front with us. tell us show us a little bit about what's in these bookbags. >> so we have a lot of good stuff going on in these backpacks. we have a few notebooks, if i can. a couple notebooks, a folder, two folders actually, and really nice pencil pouch. >> and then we also have some a lot of good utensils. we have colored pencils. we have regular pencils, glue. a ruler, erasers, and that's about it. >> lots of cool stuff, a lot of good stuff. lots of cool stuff. they got here around 8 a.m. to start packing all this stuff, getting ready for today. and there's so much stuff here as well. over the course of this morning. now organizers are calling this the city's largest single day resource hub, the international people's storehouse and the chester upland school district are partnering to host this. those book bags will have school supplies in them. the organizers say this event will have healthy food, 2,700 pounds of food, by the way, health care and job training as well. and again, they mentioned the lack of resources in the community. no hospital here anymore. the lack of grocery stores with that fresh, healthy food. the point here is to help fill a need. >> we're going to give away 2,700 pounds of food here today, making sure that our families can eat without any stress, without any strain on any other parts of their bills. think about it. so many families have to make a decision between whether or not their children eat or whether or not they get them school supplies. today, we're going to make sure they have both. we're going to make sure they leave here with everything that they need to get started for a healthy school year. >> and that will be starting in less than 30 minutes from now. this event is supposed to start at 10:00 today. we are told by the organizers that rodney mcleod, the former eagles safety, is set to be here today. actually, i was just told maybe about five, ten minutes ago that his arrival is going to be soon here. this event will go until two this afternoon. jan, why don't we send it back to you? >> what a great event and great to see those young students pitching in to volunteer and help pack the the book bags up as
