donations benefit. 46 annual super >> fast approaching, it's time to start making travel plans for those looking to avoid the crowds and experienced the winter season in new ways. good friend of the show. travel expert janine turning joins us with some idea destinations. you'll definitely want to add to your bucket list. good morning, my friend. i'm so jealous here in my home state. >> i am yes. and look, i gotta tell you, i think a lot of people and they think of colorado, they think of those big resort destinations like aspen and vail and breckenridge, which are fantastic. but there's so much more to the state and so many other unique experiences for the winter season. i want to bring some of those to you today. and let's start with where i am right now. and in glenwood springs, colorado, on here at the glenwood hot springs resort. this dates back to 18 88. it's home to the world's largest hot springs pool that you're seeing here. and this is becoming a trend for vacations going to these great hot springs destinations. and at this resort, they just at their new yacht. the mineral vast last may, and they're adding a new boutique hotel hotel, 18 88 coming this it's actually part of the colorado historically hot springs loop where you can explore. 23 hot spring soaking experiences around the state. also right here in glenwood springs is the iron mountain hot springs. another great option with 16 geothermal pools. they added 10 new riverside pool save cold plunges and you can even take in the therapeutics team of paper came here in glenwood springs. there is his fall in these underground caverns filled with therapeutics team that comes from the springs. so lots of cool ways to experience these hot springs destinations in the winter. now, i want to also talk about some ways to get up and on these mountains, maybe if you're not a skier, a lot of these are great wants to add on to the ski vacations or has her own vacations. some of my favorites snowmobiling. this is, you know, you don't need any experience to do this great activity. and there are so many places around the state of colorado to enjoy snowmobiling and get out into these landscapes right here close to glenwood springs are seeing sunlight mountain resort that has some really great excursions. i also love grand junction, colorado, where you can get out and explore the grand mesa national forest on snowmobile. and now you're seeing another, my favorite family-friendly activities, which is snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. there's some really cool, unique experiences in and around colorado. there's over 20 nordic centers throughout the state, but some my favorites are up in leadville, colorado. you can actually cross country ski or snowshoe up to the tennessee passed could house where you can enjoy a four-course dot campbell. it meal that you're seeing are after your little reward for all of your hard work. and then ice climbing. this one i think is a lot of people are intimidated by the idea of. but there's so many great outfitters that can teach you gear you up. take you to some great places where you can learn like lake city, colorado, and the san juan mountains where they just added some new train to their ice part. you're a colorado is also another great spot for that. were they actually celebrate with a festival where you can see all those pro athletes out doing the ice climbing during the winter. so those are fantastic options. now, if you are a skier, but you're looking for a lot of value, may be less crowd. some affordable options getting off the beaten path in colorado is really a way to do that. there's so many great small resort here all throughout the state you can find a lot of that great value sunlight mountain resort has graced winds get swim ski and stay package just because it's nearby. these hot springs and one which breaks a lot of value for families. there you're seeing are purgatory ski resort in durango. they a free season pass for kids 12 and under so great value for families. their loved ones, ski area. they have 3 snowcat skiing right on the continental divide. and then and how near steamboat springs, house. and he'll this is one of the oldest ski resorts in colorado and they have tree skiing on sundays. so look, there are ways to find value in these destinations and get a little bit off the beaten path and experience some of these fantastic unique ways to see the landscapes of the mountains. >> i have to say i absolutely love durango. it's also nice to go somewhere where there's not so many scares, especially if you're in new ski here because it can be kind of intimidating. everyone. where can they go for more information?
